The article deals with the results of the archaeological study of the Russian territory over the period of twenty years following World War II \u2013 from 1944 to 1964. The results are analyzed using the nationwide geoinformation system \u201cArchaeological Sites of Russia\u201d (ASR). Data on 14,730 archeological sites on the territory of the Russian Federation from 4,356 field research reports have been entered into the information search system. The study of the spatial distribution of archaeological sites that were involved in field work in 1944\u20131964 confirm general regularities the authors have already noted, where up to 79% of the studied objects are located on the European part of Russia. Apparently, the priority areas of settlement were the open spaces of the steppe and forest-steppe where the vast majority of archaeological antiquities have been found both in European and Asian parts of the country.<\/p>\n
