These expeditions became possible due to the transfer of former agricultural camp departments of Karlag and the emergence of new Virgin Land state farms. The article highlights the work of the Central Kazakhstan Expedition in the regions of virgin and fallow land development in Kazakhstan, focusing on the study of Bronze Age sites and the subsequent discovery of the Begazy-Dandybai culture. The paper is based on sources from the public archives of Kazakhstan including documents from the Scientific Archive at the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR and the State Archive of Karaganda Region.
