Key words: Trurov fortified settlement, a bank, an entrance, gates, a wall, wooden-land fortifications.

The article presents the remains of the fortifications of the entrance gates of Izborsk (Trurov) fortified settlement referring to the first half of the 13th c., the time when Izborsk was numerously mentioned in annals in the connection with war activities. The destruction of the wooden-land constructions included a significant number of clay and debris of calciferous slabs was situated on the slope of the hill and at its foot, on the route of the gate way. The constructions are reconstructed as fairly light. Such their characteristic is explained, probably, by the location of the gates on the edge of the cliff excluded the possibility of the attack.
