The article provides with the results of the complex examination of the belts’ finds with decorated panels of the Migration Period from the barrow of the Bulan-Kobinsk culture Stepushka I excavated completely in 2010 in Ongudaysky District of the Republic Altai. The analyzed collection consists of metal buckles, plates, hanger rings, and a belt distributor and a belt tip. These makes were found in situ which helped to reconstruct different constructions of the belts with decorated plates as well as their unique modifications. The comparative analysis of the found belt sets allowed identifying their relative chronology under the Xianbei-Rouran period (2th–5th cc. AD) and also finding narrow periods of existing of some makes under 4th–5th cc. The received materials has proved to be an informative source for archaeological dating and also finding regional and chronological features of the ornamenting of belts with decorated plates in nomads of Altai in the Migration People period. The results of the comparative examination of the belts from the barrow Stepushka I confirm that the development of the buckles and plates among the population of the Bulan-Kobinsk culture was under the influence of the centralized fashion of the belt sets and had its uniqueness in comparison with the evolution of the munitions of the European peoples. This has been reflected in different duration of the existence of the morphological attributes of makes and dissimilarity of the relative chronology of similar objects.
